I think that you had better go to Hshipaw station an hour ago. Because it can not be booked the day before, it is only booked on the same day. Also recieve the seat. The better seat is the window’s line. If possible, the seat is window’s line and the right side is the best！ It is understandable if you look at the picture below. Gok Hteik Bridge is curving to the right, so when you take photos etc, easily. The window and the right side is the best from Hsipaw to Mandalay and Pyin Oo Lwin(Maymyo)
- When getting on from Hsipaw to Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin(Maymyo), the right side is the best.
- When getting on from Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin(Maymyo) to Hsipaw, the left side is the best.
On the contrary, when coming to Hsipaw from Mandalay or Pyin Oo Lwin (former name: Maymyo), the bridge is curving to the left side, so the window side on the left side is the best.

You can reserve window’s line and right side seat, when you buy the train ticket.
Furthermore, the Gok Hteik railway bridge runs extremely slowly. It is about 10 kilometers per hour speed. Also, when I went, the train stopped at after crossing the Gok Hteik iron bridge about 5-10 minutes. So I got off the train and took pictures.
However, I am not sure the all trains stop at there. Even if, the trains were stopped, please pay attention, the staffs of railway don’t check that all passangers get on the train.
